A New On-farm Experimentation Season Begins:

Caroline Wawira (left) and Lucy Kinya (right) are applying diammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilizer with calibrated dollop cups to ensure the right pre-plant fertilizer application rate is provided to give their maize crop the best start. The two farmers from Embu County, Kenya, are participating in the Nutrient Catalyzed Agricultural Transformation (NUTCAT) project led by APNI. APNI is working with farmers and other agricultural stakeholders through this on-farm experimentation (OFE) framework to enhance co-learning and to generate the knowledge needed to scale up adoption of precision nutrient management across African landscapes.
